Kremlin says no such differences between OPEC and Russia as in early 2020

There are not the same strong differences between Russia and the OPEC oil group as had been the case in early 2020, a Kremlin spokesman said on Monday, as leading oil producers debate the future of their deal on output cuts.

The oil talks initially collapsed in March when Russia and OPEC’s kingpin Saudi Arabia could not agree on volumes of the oil output cuts. The deal was eventually agreed in April.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also said that President Vladimir Putin has no plans to call Saudi Arabia’s leadership before the meeting of the OPEC+ group scheduled for Tuesday.
