Shaki 'fraternizes' with another city

A document has been signed to make Shaki a sister city with Georgian Telavi city.

The ceremony which involved the leadership of Shaki city, employees of the Georgian Embassy in our country and a delegation from Telavi city noted that up to now Shaki 'fraternized' with Ukrainian Jmerinka, Turkish Giresun and Lapseki, Bulgarian Gabrovo and Belarusian city of Slutsk, Gun.Az reported.

It was noted that this ceremony coincides with a very significant period. For already several days Shaki has been hosting a range of events in connection with the Silk Road Third International music festival. Musical concerts are held with participation of foreign musicians, including Erisioni, a famous Georgian folklore and dance ensemble.

The document on making Azerbaijani Shaki and Georgian Telavi city sister cities was signed by Shaki city municipality head Fikrat Jafarov and Telavi city municipality head Nugzar Khusaidze.
