Despite the increase in prices on natural gas that Turkey buys from Azerbaijan, today Azerbaijani gas remains most profitable for Turkey.
According to Turkish Zaman, the statement came from Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz.
"Azerbaijani gas remains most profitable for Turkey", the minister said.
He also noted that the agreement with Azerbaijan has been achieved on the level of bilateral negotiations without addressing the arbitrary court. As for the gas purchase from Iran, Turkey was obliged to address the arbitrary court.
Azerbaijani gas is supplied to Turkey by the South Caucasus pipeline.
The pipeline exported 2.6bn cubic meters of natural gas in January-August 2012.
