Azerbaijan sets satellite control over navigation in its national sector on Caspian Sea.

Azerbaijan will implement the system of satellite control over the ships entered its national sector on the Caspian Sea, said chief of the Azerbaijan State Maritime Administration (ASMA) Gudrat Gurbanov.

ASMA, the State Border Service and navy will control the navigation via the Remote Monitoring and Control System, which consists of equipments produced in Norway.

“Azerbaijan is able to control the ships navigated in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea through the equipments it has now”, Gurbanov said.

Gurbanov said the Remote Monitoring and Control System would be put in operation in February-March, 2010.
