U-21football team
Azerbaijan’s youth football team (U-21) has taken the last place in its qualification group in anticipation of Europe-2011 championship.
In order to quit the last position, our team had to at least not lose in Belarus. But the match in Borisov ended with the victory of the hosts 1:0. The only goal on the 78th minute was scored by Pavel Nekhaychik.
Standings:
1. Scotland – 17 points
2. Belarus – 17
3. Austria – 14
4. Albania – 4
5. Azerbaijan - 4
The Azerbaijani team lost the fourth place to Albania by results of face-to-face matches. Scotland and Belarus will play in the play off for the right to take part in the final of the European championship.
