
During an interview with reporters, Education Minister Misir Mardanov noted the following:
'Azerbaijan is working to fight corruption in the education system. On 14 February the Ministry of Education will hold a board meeting to discuss the results of work carried out in the country in the fight against corruption in the education system in 2010. In addition, the event will announce all the necessary figures for the fight against corruption, and provide information about the imminent events'.
Azerbaijan’s Education Minister also said that overtime work of teachers at secondary schools will be paid.
'From now on overtime work of teachers at secondary schools will be paid. In particular, if teachers teach more than 24 hours per week, financial compensation will be added to their salary for extra working hours. A relevant order has been sent to the spots in this connection', said Misir Mardanov.
