Negotiations between the EU and Azerbaijan on visa issue will be completed by the end of 2012 - beginning of 2013.

This was reported in the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In particular, the Foreign Ministry said that of all the countries of the Eastern Partnership, Azerbaijan causes less anxiety in migration than others.

"We believe that by completing the negotiations with Azerbaijan, by the end of 2012 - beginning of 2013, the EU can move to ease visa regime. However, this process will be gradual. First, we plan to facilitate the visa regime for certain categories of people - businessmen, athletes, journalists, students," said the Ministry.

The Ministry also said that it is planned to reduce prices for visas from EUR 60 to EUR 35 and reduce the number of documents to obtain visas.

"Currently, Azerbaijan and the European Union are engaged in intense negotiations to resolve the issue. Deciding some issues, including issues of readmission, we can move to facilitate the visa system. And in the future we plan complete abolition of visas for citizens of the Eastern Partnership states," noted the Ministry.
