Azerbaijani political parties condemn European Parliament resolution
Azerbaijani political parties believe that the resolution of the European Parliament with regard to Safarov's pardon is biased and is a clear proof of the double standard in the world.
Representatives of various political parties in Azerbaijan have adopted a statement by results of the round table at the head office of the Yeni Azerbaijan ruling party in response to the European Parliament resolution over Ramil Safarov's pardon.
"The parties who undersigned this appeal regardless of their political views and expressing the concern of the whole Azerbaijani public over this issue once again express their strong and clear protest against the resolution of the European Parliament and assess the biased facts reflected in the document as a demonstration of the policy of double standards", the statement reads.
The authors of the document note that the European Parliament repeatedly adopted various resolutions on the South Caucasus and Azerbaijan.
"The adopted documents contained the objective reflection of the main problem facing Azerbaijan related to Armenia;s aggression and Nagorno Karabakh conflict", the statement reads.
All the same, the representatives of the political parties of Azerbaijan say that in a number of cases the parliamentarians representing the European parliament adopted documents that are far from the reality due to different interests especially under the influence of the Armenian lobby.
"We consider it more expedient for such influential international organizations as the European parliament to take real steps in the resolution of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia rather than to take steps supporting the aggressive policy of Armenia", the statement says.
The event was attended by representatives of the Yeni Azerbaijan Party, Musavat, Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, United Popular Front of Azerbaijan, National Independence Party, Party of Citizens and Development, Liberal Party of Azerbaijan, Democratic Party of Azerbaijan,Adalyat Party and others.
