Today Azerbaijan is of more significance for NATO and other international structures.

Former member of the Danish Parliament, expert on European affairs Huseyn Arac has told the statement to Gun.Az, while commenting on the NATO secretary general's visit to Azerbaijan.

"This is a very important and necessary visit for the region. This visit has many interesting points. Currently the situation in the region is fragile and the possibility of war can come up at any time. Calls for war in Armenia are increasing.

And this poses a serious threat to the region, and NATO cannot but be concerned of it. The main concern for NATO is the unsettlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, because the conflict cannot but pose threat to its interests in the region.

First of all, it should boost pressure on Armenia, which causes a serious threat in the region in order to make a positive progress," the expert said.
