The Armenian President has again made an attempt to mislead the international community.

The statement came from Foreign Ministry spokesman Elman Abdullayev, commenting on Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s statement, made at a meeting with the OSCE envoys.

According E.Abdullayev, Sargsyan has no right to speak of regional security when it is undermined by Armenia which has been occupying Azerbaijani lands for more than 20 years.

"It is known to everyone that Armenia causes the biggest damage to the present and the future of the South Caucasus with its aggressive policy, and that the responsibility for this lies with the leadership of this country. In carrying out its irresponsible policies, the Armenian authorities shamelessly steal the future of their own people", Abdullayev said.

Abdullayev also commented on Sargsyan’s statement, in which he spoke with pride about his military past.

"Yes, the government of Armenia and President of this country have been at this war, participated in the invasion of Khojaly and the killing of the civilian population of the city. Do they feel regret for the brutal killing of hundreds of civilians? Aggression is aggression even in twenty years. One million refugees and displaced people and the ethnic cleansing that occurred by Armenia’s fault is a brutal crime. The fact that one in nine Azerbaijani citizen is homeless and driven from his land is known to the world community.

And the biggest threat to the security of the region is the continued occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia. Let Sargsyan be sincere and not pretend to be innocent before foreign diplomats", he said.
