'We enjoyed great support of Azerbaijanis in Turkey's struggle for freedom'

In Turkey's struggle for independence, our Azerbaijani brothers were beside their brothers and struggled heroically.

Turkish MP from the Nationalist Movement Party, former industry and trade minister Ahmet Kenan Tanrikulu has told the statement to Gun.Az while commenting on 30 August – Victory Day of Turkey.

"That time this was an important support for Turkey and thousands of Azerbaijani Turks fought heroically for the integrity of Turkey. Still in the Canakkale battle, our Azerbaijani brothers sacrificed their lives in the fight against the outside enemy, and now their graves are side by side with their brothers in the Turkish lands.

This is the symbol of our brotherhood and unity, a common value and main factor uniting us.

Then in Turkey's struggle for independence in 1919-22s, the Azerbaijani side offered its support just like how a brothers would support his brother," the Turkish MP said.
