Ahmet Davutoglu

I think that the proposal of Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu about the organization of the Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations in Istanbul is quite possible.

The statement came from chairman of the group of friendship with Azerbaijan in the Turkish parliament Nejdet Unuvar.

"I think such a meeting is quite possible. We are neighbors and we are better award of problems. Therefore, in this term, Istanbul could be a better place for the meeting between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia. Turkey always wanted tranquility and prosperity for all its neighbors and I think it would do much for peace between the parties.

But all the same, Turkey has always been for justice. And in this sense Ankara wishes the soonest liberation of the occupied lands of Azerbaijan and return of our Azerbaijani brothers and sisters to their native lands.

If Armenia accepts Turkey's proposal about the meeting in Istanbul, it will work in its favor. We, in turn, will further do everything possible for peace in the region", he said.

Earlier Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that Turkey would like to host talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia in Istanbul.
