Target of our foreign policy is known and of course, the foreign political course carried out by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is bearing fruits.

The statement came from political scientist, MP Mubariz Gurbanli, Gun.Az reported.

The MP noted that today big changes are unfolding on a global scale and, therefore, it is important to form a policy in accordance with ongoing processes in the world.

According to the political scientist, the number of Azerbaijan's friends is increasing uninterruptedly and a vivid example to this increase is the support of 155 countries to Azerbaijan's candidacy at the UN General Assembly.

Gurbanli thinks that the essence of Azerbaijan's foreign policy targets is to provide the country's interests, and one of its main directions is to wider expose Armenia's aggression against Azerbaijan, to reach adoption of more international documents against the aggressor country, and to tackle anti-Azerbaijani steps of countries in their relationship with Armenia.

"Today Azerbaijan's foreign policy covers wider areas geographically. Therefore, the Azerbaijani foreign minister at the instruction of the head of state pays attention also to Latin American, Asian and African countries, besides Europe.

This is important in terms of taking over a higher position in the diplomatic front. This promptness of our country's foreign policy brings big dividends. Today Azerbaijan carries out economic cooperation with almost 150 countries.

Azerbaijan is in the non-aligned movement and at the same time actively cooperates with several international organizations. In general, our relations are taking a wider character in the international platform. And this factor is consistent with our foreign policy objectives and goals."
