'19 women were elected as deputies during the parliamentary elections held in Azerbaijan.

This is a great achievement of the policy of Azerbaijan'.

According to chairman of the State Committee for Problems of Family, Women and Children Hijran Huseynova, there is a great progress in this issue compared to previous elections: "Naturally, we would like the number of women deputies to increase.

However, this is not a bad result. We believe the number of women deputies exceeds the number of Azerbaijani women deputies, the chairman of the committee said:

'This issue is related to the Muslim mentality. Woman is a hearth keeper, a selfless spouse. This has always been a priority in Muslim countries'.
