Last week Vienna hosted the sixth annual international conference "Europe's gas supply and infrastructure", organized by Platts and Austrian Energy Ministry.

The conference involved well-known experts in energy, heads of gas companies, representatives of the European energy infrastructure, pipeline operators and others, Gun.Az reports.

The event focused on supply of gas to European markets, its security, and the state of the recent development of projects involved in the South Gaz Corridor.

Azerbaijan was represented at the event by Gulmira Rzayeva, a leading scientific worker of the Centre for Strategic Studies under the Azerbaijani President.

In her address, the expert spoke about the development of the South corridor and analyzed recent developments. She noted that Turkey's intention to transport Turkmen gas through Iran to its domestic market and then to European markets affects Azerbaijan's interest in this project. She said that therefore, the issue of Trans-Caspian pipeline should be solved soon.
