Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC) and International Labour Organization (ILO) have today co-organized a conference here on ILO`s role in struggle against discrimination and vulnerable employment.
ATUC deputy chairman Ilyas Aliyev said that the employees are subjected to the risk of discrimination not only for the status, gender, age, but also for the contract type signed between the employer and employee, stressing the importance of the event.
“The majority of the laborers, whose rights are not defended, are the ones which work in non-formal economy or migrant employers without legal status” he added.
The aim of the conference is to specify role of the trade unions confederation on improvement of protection of the employees in fight against discrimination.
