Azerbaijan to produce ships
A new shipyard in Alyat will fully meet Azerbaijan’s demand in vessels.
According to SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev, the new plant to be launched in 2013 will produce ships for other Caspian states as well.
Abdullayev noted that Azerbaijan has already received numerous orders for purchase of new ships, renewal of the ship park and building navy vessels:
'In addition, we have already launched the program of building sailing facilities. This shipyard will promote not only the implementation of the projects in Azerbaijan. We have left the opportunity to expand it to produce tankers for Caspian states and build technological vessels for implementation of oil and gas operations of these countries. There is a demand and we will build ships'.
