Azerbaijan plans to apply up to 70 state standards in energy sphere until 2014

State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan is planning to apply up to 70 state standards in energy sphere until 2014.

'The head of the state has already been submitted the draft program, envisioning application of up to 70 state standards in energy in period from 2011 until 2013 in Azerbaijan', said chief of department for technical regulation and standardization Sabig Abdullayev.

He noted that according to committee specialists, the application of these standards may lead to  30% saving in energy consumption.

'This program is very diverse. In other words, such saving is possible through application of modern technologies and equipment, introduction of other systems of quality management in production, in transportation of energy sources and with respect to other aspects', said Abdullayev.
