In January-June 2010 the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan exported 218,891 tons of oil coke in the amount of $6,374,000.
The export has increased by 9.5 times and received revenues by 11 time over the same period of the last year.
Sources in the company said the export of oil coke is related to the increased volumes of secondary oil refining.
“In this connection, the fuel oil production has dropped at local oil refineries, since fuel oil goes for additional refining, which helps produce additional volumes of oil products, while oil coke is also the product of secondary refining”, the sources in the company said.
