'Official of a third country has no right to interfere with our affairs.'

Georgian Foreign Minister Georgi Vashadze has declared that “the extension of the term of the Russian military base in Armenia jeopardizes Armenia’s independence.” Commenting on the statement, Spokesman for the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tigran Balayan said:

“We do not share this opinion. The leadership of the country has repeatedly expressed our stance on the presence of the Russian military base in Armenia. We think that Azerbaijani media distort the information out of habit.”

“In any case the official of a third country has no right to interfere with our affairs and make comments on issues of our security, Tigran Balayan said.

According to the Spokesman, the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Georgia will have a phone conversation today.”
