BTC pipeline supplies over 112 mln tons of oil to world markets overall

The pipeline exported 285 mln oil barrels (38 mln tons) in 2009.

1065 tankers have been loaded in the Turkish port of Ceyhan since 4 June 2006 until 20 February 2010 since the start of operation of the BTC pipeline, according to a statement from BP-Azerbaijan.

Thus, through the whole period of BTC operation, the world markets have received over 837 mln barrels (more than 112 mln tons) of crude.

The pipeline exported 285 mln oil barrels (38 mln tons) in 2009.

According to the statement, last year the BTC pipeline transported oil from ACG and condensate from Shah Deniz, as well as some volumes of crude from North Caspian Sea. The first volumes of oil from the Tengiz field in Kazakhstan were supplied to BTC in October 2008.

The BTC Co shareholders are Bp (30.1%); AzBTC (25.00%); Chevron (8.90%); StatoilHydro (8.71%); TPAO (6.53%); ENI (5.00%); Total (5.00%), Itochu (3.40%); INPEX (2.50%), ConocoPhillips (2.50%), и Hess (2.36%).
