Istanbul will be hosting the film festival of the Turkish-speaking countries on February 15-18.
According to the news release issued by the organizers of the event, the festival will be held under steering support of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, TURKSOY, as well as the culture department of the Istanbul mayor's office.
The festival will demonstrate films from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan as well as autonomous republics of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, according to the Turkish mass media.
The festival envisions discussions from the cinematographers of the Turkic-speaking countries, transformation of the Istanbul film festival into the annual with granting international status to it.
