ADSL capacity to reach 70,000 in Baku

The increase in ADSL-ports by 13,568 to 70,000 ports is expected through reconstruction of automatic telephone stations.

Baki telefon rabitesi under the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan has raised the capacity of ADSL ports in Baku to 56,432, according to general director of the producing unit Beytulla Huseynov.
He said 16,208 ports have been established by Baktelekom, 25,792 by other prodivers which created conditions for provision of broadband communication to users.

"The increase in ADSL-ports by 13,568 to 70,000 ports is expected through reconstruction of automatic telephone stations 471/472/473/423/477 and 479 on the basis of the Next Generation Network", Huseynov said.

The opportunity to use such multimedia services as IP TV, videotelephone, IP-telephonia, high-speed internet connection and so on will appear with the introduction of NGN technology in Baku along with modern and high quality voice and DATA-services.
