Alim Qasimov
Alim Qasimov and his daughter Fergana have returned to Azerbaijan from a trip to the UK.
The Qasimovs (also written Gasimov), gave concerts in London and Manchester at the end of January.
In London the mugam singers were accompanied by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. They performed compositions by Jahangir Jahangirov and traditional mugam.
"The orchestral accompaniment was satisfactory, but before the performance the ensemble received the compositions on disc, not in notation, so it did make mistakes," Qasimov said in Baku.
In Manchester the Qasimovs performed at the Royal Northern College of Music.
They were accompanied by Zeki Veliyev on tar and Rauf Ismayilov on kamancha.
