Malta’s Armenian diaspora disappointed with Euronews “response” report on Karabakh conflict.

The Armenian Diaspora of Malta has voiced its disappointment over the “response” report of Euronews “Nagorno Karabakh: in the campus of refugees in Azerbaijan” demonstrated on 1 February 2010. "In this report the TV channel, under the obvious pressure of the Azerbaijani side, made the obvious contradictions with the main concept of the first 'peace-loving' report about "NKR" of 28 November of 2009.

The unhidden 'bellicose' appeals and threats of war in the unison of the line of conduct of the president of this country, Ilham Aliyev, is heard in the new report made after the 'worldwide hysteria' of  Azerbaijan’s political establishment"

“After watching the Euronews report, the Armenian diaspora of Malta voices its resentment and disappointment. We consider it incorrect to interpret UN resolutions on Karabakh conflict in a one-sided way and especially support and broadcast appeals for war. We hope that one of the most respected and tolerant TV channels of Europe will be more attentive and correct while demonstrating such reports especially on the background of the ongoing Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations. We are confident that the changes in the shareholders of the TV channel must not influence its work and it should remain unbiased and imp.rtial like it has always been”, the news service for the Armenian Diaspora of Malta told ArmInfo.

In February of 2009 the Public Television of Turkey, TRT, has become the Euronews shareholder and member of the observation council after it purchased 15.7% stocks and thus turning into the fourth influential owner of the TV channel after France Televisions (25.37%), Italian television company RAI (22.84%) and Russian RTR (16.94%).
