Azerbaijan broadens use of computer technology in teaching English

The project "One pupil-one computer" is being implemented in Azerbaijan.

The Information and Resource Center of the Department of Educational System Informatization under Azerbaijan's Ministry of Education held trainings on teaching pedagogical practice and language and  application of the system of class management.

According to a statement from the Information Center on ICT, the trainings organized for English teachers of the Elite Classical School and European Lyceum were conducted by an expert invited from Finland by SANAKO.

The aim of the trainings is to regulate the language classes of the schools participating in the project, effective use of netbooks by schoolchildren, as well as raising quality of English language teaching. During the trainings the teachers received theoretical and practical knowledge in application of different equipment and programs.

The main aim of the project implemented within the framework of the State program on informatization of the educational system in Azerbaijan in 2008-2012, provision of opportunity for effective use of IT in education at school and at home. For this purpose the pupils of pilot schools were presented netbooks for use. This will help them get a more effective education via ICT.
