"The Iranian government is discussing the issue of unilaterally canceling the visa regime with a number of countries, including Azerbaijan," Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki has told journalists.

He said that a draft had already been presented to the government.

“We have presented a request for legal permission to the cabinet and once the decision has been confirmed, Azerbaijani citizens will be able to visit Iran without having to get a visa,” he said.

Manouchehr Mottaki said they were expecting Azerbaijan to reciprocate.
