Global energy crisis is not expected before 2020, said expert Alexander Ageev, general director of the Institute of Economic Strategy of the Public Science Sector of the Russian Academy of Science.
Ageev's report on global energy security and alternative energy sources was presented at the Center of Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan.
The Russian expert noted that the traditional energy market relying on such energy sources as oil, gas and coal, will grow until 2030. Yet the role of alternative energy sources including hydrogen and energy produced by wind facilities and solar batteries.
"We can expect application of alternative energy sources in 2015. Though alternative sources will not take a significant place in energy complex in the coming years. So far it is possible to say that we will hold the 21st century in a usual format", Ageev said.
