Miroslav Klose to miss match with Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan’s closest opponents in football- Kazakhstan (3 June, Astana) and Germany (7 June, Baku) suffered the next loss.

The German team lost its forward Miroslav Klose. He was injured in the Sunday’s friendly with Uruguay (2-1). The examination on Monday showed that the 32-year-old forward will be unable to continue preparations for the matches against Austria and Azerbaijan. Thus, team has the only nominal forward Mario Gomez. Earlier, the team lost halfbacks Bastian Sweinsteiger and Sven Bender due to injuries.

The young forward of the Kazakh team Sergey Lisenkov also left the team due to trauma. The player of Karaganda’s Shakhtyor Sergey Khizhnichenko who was already playing in the previous matches of the current qualifier of Euro-2012 series was called for the vacant place. This season, he is among the best scorers of the ongoing national championship with seven scored goals.

Today the Kazakh national team will end the training session at its base in Talgar and on 1 June they will fly to Astana to continue preparations for the match with the Azerbaijani team.
