Azerbaijan's municipal elections to involve 31861 candidates

31861 candidates will struggle for 15682 seats in 1718 municipalities at the upcoming municipal elections in Azerbaijan, according to the official website of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan.

The municipal elections will be held on 23 December. The stage of candidates' ratification for participation in municipal elections ended in Azerbaijan at 18.00 Monday. The agitation campaign will start on 25 November and will complete 24 hours before the voting process starts - at 8.00 on 22 December.

Of all the registered candidates 146347 people have nominated independently, 147 candidates were nominated by initiative groups.

The ruling party New Azerbaijan nominated 15,388 candidates, Ana Veten-120, Civil Solidarity Party -223, Musavat 125, Democratic peace of Azerbaijan - 76, Umid - 375, Communist party-7, Patriots' party-4, Social welfare party-8, Social-Democratic party - 1, Liberal-democratic party - 4, Muasir Musavat- 22, Democratic Reforms party - 72, United Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan - 238, Great Creation Party-385, Civil Solidarity Party-31, Citizen and development party- 1, National Democratic Party-10.

The municipal elections will involve 11,331 independent candidates.
