Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will pay a visit to Russia on November 24, I.Aliyev said during the meeting with chief of Russia’s presidential administration in Baku Monday.
"I am leaving for Russia at the invitation of President Medvedev tomorrow and we will continue our consultations there", he said Monday according to correspondent of Interfax-Azerbaijan. He noted that the rich agenda of meetings held Monday will promote development of bilateral relations in economic and humanitarian spheres and closing of ties between religious confessions.
"This proves that our relations are multiple, multisided and successfully developing", the president said. He voiced confidence that Narishkin’s visit to Baku will promote further successful development of relations between the two countries.
In turn, Narishkin said he had a very "tense but interesting day" on Monday. In particular, he singled out the meeting with chief of the Caucasus Muslims Department Allahshukur Pashazade.
"I have fulfilled an honored meeting and granted the state award to Sheikh-ul-Islam", Narishkin said. Moreover, he noted that he attended the opening ceremony of the Azerbaijani-Russian Vneshtorgbank (Azerbaijan) in Baku.
He called the opening of the bank in Baku "an important event".
"I am glad that one of the biggest banks of Russia has entered Azerbaijan. This also proves the interest of the Russian banking community to Azerbaijan and reflects the spirit of our relations", the president said. I.Aliyev voiced hope for the successful activity of the bank that will promote implementation of joint projects.
