Ogtay Asadov
An enlarged session dedicated to the 20th anniversary of UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) started in Milli Majlis.
Speaker of the Parliament Ogtay Asadov said in accordance with the executive order signed by President Ilham Aliyev, 2009 year was declared as a “Year of the Child”. A legislative basis on rights of the child in Azerbaijan meets the present-day standards, Mr. Asadov said.
Speaker praised activity of President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, first lady of Azerbaijan Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva in solution of children` problems.
Chairman of Social Policy Committee of Milli Majlis Hadi Racabli said such events in Azerbaijan
are evidence of the rule of law in the country and its integration into the international community.
The session is underway.
