The forum and the session involved members of the Azeri commission on combat with corruption – chief of department for work with law enforcement bodies at the presidential administration Fuad Aleskerov, MM deputy Bakhtiyar Aliyev, as well as deputy prosecutor general Namiq Askerov, Azeri ambassador in Qatar Eldar Salimov, chief of department of international ties under Prosecutor General’s office Ruslan Hajiyev, secretary of the commission for combat with corruption Inam Kerimov.
The forum and the session participants held discussions and exchanged views about prevention of corruption and effective and progressive experience of combat with it. Azeri delegation members made different proposals, informed the participants of the details of measures conducted in the sphere of combat with corruption, national strategy for raising security and combating corruption. The participants received information about the political, social and economic development of Azerbaijan, legal reforms, Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno Karabakh as well as other information about our country, including different documents reflecting measures of combat with corruption. The declaration of the Global forum and due resolutions and decisions were adopted during the global forum and the conference of the UN convention against corruption.
During the visit the Azeri delegation was received by prince of Qatar sheikh Tamim ben Khamad ben Khalif Al Tani. Sheikh Tamim noted that the peoples of Qatar and Azerbaijan and the heads of the two states are sincere friends and he asked to communicate his respect and best regards from Emir of Qatar to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The meeting participants stressed intensive development of ties between the two countries, AzerTac reports.
In the framework of the bilateral meetings the Azerbaijani delegation met with prosecutor general and minister of justice of Qatar as well as representatives of other countries. The meeting participants discussed trends of bilateral legal cooperation, stressed importance of developing ties in this sphere. The delegation also met with leaders of a number of international organizations, including leader of Transparency International and chief executive of the Global organization “Parliamentarians against corruption” and held talks on organization of joint events, intensification of cooperation between Azerbaijan and said structures.
