An international football tournament with participation of four teams including a team from Azerbaijan kicked off in UAE Sunday.
According to News.Az, in the first game our team met with Asian champion – Iraq. Iraqis won 1:0. The only goal was scored by Abbas who excelled on the 89th minute. On November 18 our team will fight for the third place against Czechia that was defeated by UAE team in another semifinal in the post-match penalty series.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan’s junior team also held its next match receiving Scottish team at the republican stadium after Tofik Bahramov within the framework of the Europe-2011 qualification tournament.
The guests’ superiority was obvious. They won 4:0 and became the group leaders with 12 points. Azerbaijan has no points and is bottom 5th. Bernhard Lippert’s team will have their next match in Austria on November 18.
