Central Election Commission
More than 34,100 had citizens applied to the election commissions for participation in municipal elections in Azerbaijan before November 11.
At the same time 33,431 people received signature lists in the district election commissions to collect signatures. Of them 29533 candidates gathered the required number of signatures and presented these lists and other needed documents to the due district election commissions.
26,462 candidates have already been registered in 1717 municipalities.
In particular, about 7,800 of the nominated candidates do not belong to any party while the remaining candidates represent 22 political parties.
The December 23 municipal election will elect 15682 members on 1718 municipalities.
