Azerbaijani leader visits Hajigabul District

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev today visited Hajigabul District, southwest of the capital Baku.

The president visited the village of Meyniman which was badly affected by floods earlier in the year.

He presented ownership documents for 22 newly-built apartments to Meyniman residents.

The president visited the home of Meyniman resident Marhamat Yagubova and took an interest in her living conditions.

The flooding of the Kur River in May destroyed 35 houses in Meyniman and made another 25 unfit to live in.

Twenty-two new apartments with gardens have been built so far.The construction of new homes is continuing in the village while repairs are being made to a further 21 homes.

Assistance of more than 109,000 manats ($136,000) has been provided to 110 flood victims.

A new road to the village is also being built.
