Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev has issued a decree on increasing the scholarships determined for doctoral candidates, students and learners of higher and specialized secondary educational institutions and educational institutions of primary vocational school studying at the expense of state budget, reports the presidential press service.

The decree has been issued for the purpose of raising the public concern about the doctoral candidates, students and learners of higher and specialized secondary educational institutions and educational institutions of primary vocational school, studying at the expense of state budget, and further strengthening their social protection.

According to the order, from September 1, the scholarships of the doctoral candidates and students, receiving personal scholarship in higher educations, are set at the rate of AZN 100.

The scholarships for students, receiving excellent grades, students receiving excellent and good grades and students, who receive good and fair grads in master’s degree, are set at the rate of 85, 70, and AZN 45 respectively.

The scholarships for the students receiving excellent grades, students receiving excellent and good grades and students, who receive good and fair grades in undergraduate, are set at the rate of 80, 65 and AZN 40 respectively.

The scholarships for the learners of the specialized secondary educational institutions, who receive excellent evaluations, learners receiving excellent and good evaluations and learners receiving good and fair evaluations are set at the rate of 40, 35 and AZN 30 respectively. The scholarships for learners of the educational institutions of primary vocational school are set of AZN 30.

According to this order, paragraph 1, the Presidential Order dated from September 12, 2008 # 3042 'On increasing the scholarships of postgraduate students, students of higher and specialized secondary educational institutions, and learners of the vocational schools and vocational lyceums' is considered to be a null and void.

The Cabinet of Azerbaijan Republic is entrusted to solve all related issues proceeding from this Order.
