Azerbaijani kickboxers win two awards in Combat Games 2010

Sportaccord Combat Games 2010 involving Azerbaijani sportsmen have ended in Beijing.

On the last day of the contest Azerbaijan won gold and bronze. Our kickboxers excelled in low kick. Parviz Abdullayev (71 kg) won gold and Kenan Sadikhov (75 kg) won bronze. Abdullayev defeated Pole Tomas Mordarski in the semifinal and beat Russian Vladimir Tarasov in the final.

Karateka Niyazi Aliyev (67 kg) and wrestler Olesya Zamula (63 kg) won gold earlier. The Azerbaijani team  took the 13th place among teams outstripping most countries including Turkey, Great Britain, the United States and Australia.  Russia is leading with 18 gold, 11 silver and 10 bronze awards. China is second and Ukraine is third.
