Over 800 foreigners had to leave Azerbaijan in August

Last month, 138 foreign citizens were deported from Azerbaijan, while another 733 were told to leave the country.

The State Migration Service said yesterday that the foreign citizens had broken the rules for temporary stay and permanent residence in Azerbaijan.

In August the service dealt with 3,657 applications from foreigners and stateless persons for an extension of their stay, for permission for temporary and permanent residence, for refugee status, for individual work permits and extensions to the term of work permits.

The State Migration Service found in August that 1,112 foreigners had broken the requirements of administrative legislation: 241 of them paid fines and their residence was legalized; 733 foreigners were told to leave the country within 48 hours under the Administrative Offences Code; and 138 foreigners were deported.
