Public discussions of new draft Constitution of Georgia continue.

Members of the commission working on the constitutional changes held Thursday a meeting with representatives of the council of ethnic minorities at the Public Defender`s Office.

The members of the ethnic minorities will present their remarks and propositions on the constitutional changes to the commission. They say, division of power among the branches of government would assist democratic development of the country.

The constitutional commission also discussed the draft project with judges at the Supreme Court on Thursday. As reported, one of the most significant constitutional changes refers to termless appointment of judges that would help increasing the public confidence in judges and providing stability of the court system.

The Venice Commission also supported the termless appointment of judges in Georgia after three-year trial period.

The Draft Constitution also implies increasing rights of the Supreme Justice Council.
