John Greenway, the chairman of the PACE Committee on Migration, Refugees and Population, sent the Georgian government a letter expressing concern about the ways of eviction.
It notes that even though refugees were given choice; compensation or moving - they were not adequately informed of the coming eviction, and therefore had no opportunity to make their choice.
Greenway calls on Georgian government to freeze the process of eviction till the moment due conditions are created and legal issues are settled properly.
Refugees has been evicted from various administrative buildings of Tbilisi, where they stayed temporarily, since end July.
Mass protest actions have been staged for weeks. Opposition supports refugees and demands authorities to provide them with dwellings.
