SOCAR informed, that subsidiary of SOCAR Socar Georgia Petroleum LLC has opened a fuel station in Gizilgadjili village of Marneul district of Georgia. An opening ceremony was attended by President of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev. As the result, the network of such stations in Georgia has increased to 46 petrol stations. It should be expanded to 60 petrol stations till end of the year and this plan has been fulfilled by three quarters.
Besides Georgia, SOCAR owns three fuel stations in Azerbaijan and 30 ones in Ukraine.
SOCAR attracts international experience to action plan on reduction of emissions of associated gas
State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has held a workshop on discussion of primary project of action plan within the Global Gas Flaring Reduction (GGFR) supported by the World Bank Group (WBG).
SOCAR informed, the event, which was held by the ecological department of the company, was attended by representatives of WB and international experts.
Primary version of the “Plan of reduction of emissions and burning of associated gas” was presented, appraisals of current volume of the emissions and actions for promotion of the actions for reduction of them were under discussion and international experience was listened.
The event will attended by the representatives of SOCAR, its production association Azneft, operational companies and JVs.
Earlier, it was planned to implement action plan on reduction of emissions of associated gas, which was undergone expertise in the World Bank (WB), in the first quarter of 2010. This year SOCAR planned to reduce gas flaring in equivalent of 450,000 tons of CO2 emissions
Relevant work is carried out in two directions – collection, utilization and use of associated gas and reduction of gas flaring.
Work was started in 2005 and obtained gas flaring reduction in 2006-9 by 445,000 tons of CO2 emissions at Gunashli field and 160,000 tons at Neft Dashlari field.
