Communications sector revenues grow 4.4 times in Azerbaijan, minister

Azerbaijan has recently achieved the 25-30% rate of the average annual growth in the sector of information and communication technologies.

The statement came from Azerbaijan's Minister of Communication and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov in the interview with the official website of the ruling New Azerbaijan party.

According to the minister, the revenues in the ICT sector grew by 4.4 times in the past six years.
"The new types of services are created in ICT sector and volume of existing ones is expanding. In the result, the ICT share in nonoil sector has grown from 4.2 % to 4.4%", Abbasov said.

He also noted that in the result of adopted measures the information and communication infrastructure has increased significantly and modern services and export of some production was launched.

"It is not by accident that influential international organizations highly appreciated the achievements in this sphere", Abbasov said.
