Azerbaijani leader visits Gusar

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today arrived in the country`s Gusar region.

The Head of State started his visit by laying flowers at a monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev in the Heydar Aliyev Garden.

President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of reconstructed Samur-Khazrya highway on August 12.

Official website of the Azerbaijani president reported that the head of state was warmly welcomed by the public representatives of the Gusar region. The president cut the symbolic red ribbon.

It was reported that AZN 6.5m was allocated for reconstruction of the highway by the order of the president of Azerbaijan of 27 August 2009.

The road of 23 km in length and 6 meters in width communicates 27 villages and settlements with the population of 16,000 people. The highway originates from the Samur settlement and continues in three direction near Khazrya settlement-Khazrya-Sudug, Khazrya-Muchug and Khazrya-Zukhul.

Congratulating the region residents on the commissioning of the new highway, the head of the state wished them success in further activity and gave them instructions and recommendations.
