Azerbaijani men at the age of 18-20 years have been unable to get a visa to visit Dubai in the past eight days.

'The tourism agencies of Azerbaijan received a notification letter from operators of Dubai on July 21 saying Azerbaijani citizens, men at the age of 18 to 60 years will not receive visas in the next 10 days. Information says that this issue will be settled but so far there is no news about it and the reasons of such a step are not specified', supervisor of Khazar Travel tourism company Ulviya Mammadli.

Nevertheless, Mammadli does not believe that the process of issuing visas will be restored in ten days from the receipt of this letter.

'It is not the fact that it is limited to ten days. Such procedures are usually settled for a long time. Nothing is clear now', she said.

She noted that the information about the suspension of the process of Dubai visa issuance has been creating concern among Azerbaijani public.

'The number of Azerbaijani citizens visiting Dubai is high in summer. Imagine that the plane from Baku to Dubai flies every day and sometimes it is full and not all willing to travel are able to get an air ticket. It is most difficult to get tickets for Saturday and Sunday airflights', Mammadli said.

According to Mammadli, the Dubai visa is issued within five working days 'considering the fact that Thursday and Friday are nonworking days there'. The term of visa validity is 1 month.

'This is observed for the first time. Certainly, earlier there were such surprises connected with the change of work conditions in Dubai. It is especially difficult to work in Dubai in the month of Ramadan since as a rule Arabs are not extremely inclined to work at that period. As is a rule, earlier women at the age of up to 35 found it a problem to get a visa but now this is already not a problem and now a new issue has emerged', Mammadli said.
