On May 18 the Baku museums will join the International action “Museum for social harmony”, sources in the Ministry of culture and tourism said.

One of the directions of the Day of Museums in Azerbaijan will be connected with the jubilee 125th birthday of great composer Uz.Hajibeyov and be held under the slogan “World of Uzeir in Museums”.

Thus, the visitors will enjoy live music of different genres at the State Museum of music culture from 17.00 until 23.00, museum director Alla Bayramova.

An experimental concert of students of the Baku Music Academy-vocalists, pianists and violinists will be held with participation of music experts at Hajibeyov museum house.

Thus, pictures will be set in two halls at the State Art Museum named after Mustafayev. They will include graphics, art and expositions of decorative applied art related to music and personality of Uzeir Hajibeyov.

An exposition to feature over 50 works including such famous works of prominent Azerbaijani graphist and caricature artist Azim Azimzade as “Forced marriage”, “The Wedding”, “Refugees”, caricatures of heroes from Old Baku called “Images of Old Baku”, as well as little-known works of the artist will be organized at Azim Azimzade’s museum house on May 17-18.

For the first time the Night of museums was held under patronage of the Council of Europe under support of the International Council of Museums in May 2005. Since that time the annual actions of the Night of Museums within the framework of the Day of Museums have involved about 2,000 museums of the world.

In addition, under the program of the Moscow visit of the Azerbaijani delegation, the minister and veteran communicators attended a ceremony on the 65th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War and in the events in connection with the 87th birthday of national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev organized by the Azerbaijani embassy in Russia.

On the last day of the visit Ali Abbasov took part and delivered speech in the opening ceremony of the 22nd international exhibition in the sphere of ICT “Expocom-2010”.
