Novruz holiday has been celebrated in many countries.
The Embassy of Azerbaijan to the United Kingdom in cooperation with the Anglo-Azerbaijan Society held a party on occasion of Novruz holiday at the UK Parliament.
The event has brought together British parliamentarians, Ambassadors and other diplomats accredited in London, as well as representatives of the UK Foreign Secretary and Azerbaijani community.
Chairman of Anglo-Azerbaijan Society Lord Fraser of Carmyllie Q.C., addressing the Novruz party, said that the events of this kind contribute to the relations between the two countries.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan to UK Fakhraddin Gurbanov congratulated the attendees and briefed them on the history and rites of Novruz Bayram.
Novruz Bayram, marking the first day of spring, was celebrated in Seoul on the initiative of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Korea.
The event has brought together teachers and students of the Korea-based University of Foreign Languages’ Azeri language department and foreign diplomats.
Rovshan Jumshudov, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Korea, congratulated the participants on Novruz Bayram and briefed them on the history of this holiday. The Ambassador emphasized that the United Nations General Assembly recognized March 21 as the “International Day of Novruz”.
Novruz has also been marked in Belgium. An event on Novruz has been held under the Azerbaijani House of Belgium and Young Azerbaijani Turks,
The event involved Azerbaijanis, Turks, representatives of the Igdir diaspora of Belgium, youth, as well as guests from different European countries.
An event on Novruz has also been held in Heerlen, Holland.
According to the news service for the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs, the event mostly involved local residents of the city.
According to Irada Ulukhanova, head of the society "Solidarity of single, inseparable and democratic Azerbaijan", the aim of the invitation of Hollands to the event was to boost propaganda of our country and its national traditions.
Azerbaijan's embassy in Kuwait in cooperation with the research center of East-Wesy relations has also organized and held an event on the celebration of Novruz, according to the news service for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
More than 200 guests including representatives of the diplomatic corps, Azerbaijani diaspora, teaching and student staff of the Kuwait high schools, representatives of mass media, women and youth, as well as international organizations have been invited for the event.
According to the diplomat, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on "International Day of Novruz" on the basis of Azerbaijan's proposal in February of this year.
