The Azerbaijani FM has commented on the current stage of relations between Azerbaijan and the United States.
The relations between Azerbaijan and the United States are on a very high level and developing normally, Azerbaijan's FM Elmar Mammadyarov told a news conference.
"Huge work has been carried out within the framework of the bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States in the past 20 years. Washington has supported Azerbaijan in the implementation of the BTC project", he said.
Commenting on the nine-month absence of the US ambassador in Azerbaijan, the minister said this is an internal affair of the US administration.
"Currently the United States have no ambassadors in a number of other countries and international organizations including in OSCE. We would like the United States to appoint their ambassador in Azerbaijan soon", he said.
