Elmar Mammadyarov has commented to reporters on Edward Nalbandian's statement on updated Madrid principles.
Sources in the Foreign Ministry said, according to Mammadyarov, "Nalbandian's statement that Armenia accepts the renewed version of Madrid principles is a positive factor".
"This creates good opportunities for continuation and completion of the first stage of negotiations on Nagorno Karabakh between Azerbaijan, Armenia and OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs in order to start working at a new big peace agreement.
According to Mammadyarov, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs have not yet contacted him personally regarding the results of the meeting with Armenian FM Nalbandian in Paris on March 16.
