The US government has selected Azerbaijan as one of the participants in its Global Pulse 2010 online discussion.

Inspired by President Obama’s “New Beginnings” speech to Cairo University, Global Pulse 2010 aims to create a global conversation on 10 topical social issues in the fields of science and technology, entrepreneurship and human development.

Azerbaijan was one of just 11 countries initially chosen to participate in the global on-line forum.

The US government is keen for Azerbaijanis to take part and share their thoughts. Their opinions will be heard by senior US government policy makers, including the president and secretary of state.

'Global Pulse 2010 will offer a unique way for community members to connect and engage, build new relationships and share their ideas on how we can strengthen our global partnerships to better address our shared global challenges,' the organizers said in an e-mail to potential participants in Azerbaijan.

The online forum will be held over two days from 29 to 31 March.

Anyone interested in taking part should complete and submit a form at the address http://globalpulse2010.gov/register.html. The required affiliate code is Pulse2010Azerbaijan.
